The meeting between Arreaza and Zarif was held at Iran's permanent representative's office in the United Nations in New York to discuss mutual issues and US unilateral moves.
Zarif once again expressed Iran's support for Venezuelan government and urged other countries to respect the UN Charter and not to interfere in domestic affairs of Venezuela, adding that Iran tries to boost economic ties with Caracas.
Thanking Zarif, Arreaza said that his country is trying to counter unfair aggressive approach of some countries, led by the US.
Venezuela is stable and the legal government in charge of running the affairs; the majority of the Venezuelans opposes US intervention in a way that their support for the government is increasing, he added.
He said that the dissidents of Caracas legal government are actually subservient to the US and are not qualified to negotiate on behalf of the people.
Zarif is currently on a visit to New York to take part in UN Conference on 'Multilateralism and Diplomacy of Peace'.
Zarif answered questions about US illegal sanctions on Iranian people, exchange of prisoners, oil exports, and retuning to the negotiating table in an interview at the Asia Society in New York on Wednesday morning.
He, then, went to the UNGA Conference to deliver speech.
Zarif expressed deep concern about the US unilateral decisions, saying that the only way to help solve the problems in the international community is multilateralism.
He also has a meeting with the US chief Antonio Guterres and the head of UNGA María Fernanda Espinosa.
During his stay in New York, Zarif is scheduled to take part in a meeting with US intellectuals and he may give interview to some media.
